It’s hard to imagine that many people have held out this long, but if you have yet to pick up Valve’s Orange Box, now’s the time to do so. Seriously. For this weekend only, Valve has slashed the price of the five-pack wonder to just $9.99 — a 66 percent price reduction.

Included in the anthology are all three Half Life 2 episodes, along with Portal and Team Fortress 2. Considering it was already quite the deal at full price, you can’t go wrong here.

Even though I've already beaten it on my Xbox360, I traded it in because I was done with it. Although I do miss it slightly and it has the lost coast which I've never played. This is a steal. Downloading as I type. Great deal. I know I'll want to play again some day :P

Holy shit that works at just £5.66.

Downloading now. I guess I can trade in the 360 version now then.

I thought that too as soon as I saw this thead. Then I remembered that steam thinks $1 = £1 :(

  7. Eran

No, they think €1 = $1 and treat the pound differently. Despite the pound's similarity to the euro...
Anyway, see this as this: Team Fortress 2 @ half price, with free Portal and the best game series EVER.

Its times like this I wish I had a decent computer instead of this shitty laptop.

  9. Eran

HL2 was designed to be able to run on almost any computer when it was released. You can force any Source-based game to work in lower graphics modes like DirectX7 if you need to. Post your specs! I'll tell you if you can run it.

  10. Moose

I would buy this if I didn't already have TF2.

Just buy it, so you'll have it if you ever get a better PC. It's $10!

I wonder if I can run L4D on my current pc with a 9300 can I also run Orange Box. Also is there anyway I can get via a dvd and not steam?

  13. eldiablov

I have an ATI radeon 9200 with 64mb VRAM and I can run TF2.

  14. Freshmilk

Just bought it. You've no idea how much trouble I've had purchasing and installing this, it's downloading now. A 6.6gb install is no easy task when you've only got 37gb on the whole fucking PC, and less than 1gb free space.

What you think I made up that £5.66 figure? That's the price I paid for it not a guestimation price.

When they first introduced GBP as a currency the prices were $1=£1, it was fixed less than a week afterwards.

I might buy it. Chances are I can convince my bro to share accounts with me and then he'll buy it and we'll take turns logging on.

Now we have more players for our server!

  17. James.

    Holy shit.
I just realised that HL2 on its own is £5.66

Not at the $9.99 price, Steam is digital delivery only. If you can run L4D on that system it'll do just fine with all games in the Orange Box. L4D is more demanding spec-wise.

How do you do that? My computer meets the minimum requirements but not the recommended. At times it gets a little choppy.(Even with everything at its lowest.

Same here. Although I was a bit peeved they don't let you gift TF2 if you already owned it beforehand. But hey, for $10 it is hard to complain.

open up your steam "games" tab and then right click on the game and then click properties. Then click "set launch options" and enter -dxlevel 70
