Report: Rumored PS3 Slim Enters Production Phase
by eXophase Mirror on Jul.01, 2009 at 1:03 am, under Gaming, PlayStation 3 | Thread ID: 4566

If a report from Taiwan-based finance site UDN is to be believed, the much-rumored PS3 Slim model has entered the production phase and units will be ready to ship by July at the earliest. Do keep in mind that doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll reach store shelves this month, but this tidbit of information does fall in line with previous rumors that pegged a price cut for later this fall. Clearly, Sony is up to something.
With stock of the current 80GB model reportedly being phased out, a late August or early September retail availability date for the PS3 Slim is looking increasingly likely. More as it breaks.

If this was true, I expect Sony would've announced it at E3. But they didn't, so... who knows?

Glad I waiting.

Bet they're going to have a huge production run and announce and release it at TGS. Rather than announce it but not release it for months, which would kill sales completely of the big ps3.

I just hope it's not as ugly as rumoured... It looked like a flat pankake -.-

Hopefully not. Sony is usually good on the design department, so I'm betting on it looking better.

Better than that crappy logo. But still terrible.
Are they going the way of the video store with this? Releasing it the same day they announce it?
