Peripheral maker Mad Catz has scored licensing rights to create officially branded controller pads and accessories based on what is poised to become one of this year’s best-selling titles, Modern Warfare 2. Quite a coup for them.
“We are excited to partner with Activision and Infinity Ward to create branded controllers and accessories based on what is one of the videogame industry’s preeminent franchises,” said Darren Richardson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz.
From a global standpoint, the agreement gives Mad Catz permission to produce accessories for the title on all platforms. Product details and photos have yet to be released.

A smart move made by Mad Catz, they've clearly seen a potential "super game" that has a powerful predecessor. However much money they invest in this I'm sure (if the controllers and other accessories are useful and well made) that it will be refunded with massive profits.

I hate Mat Catz there products are so crapy but they sell them for a good price.

Everything I have bought from Mad Catz has been brilliant, so I don't know what your talking about.
PS2 controller, PS2 stack, PS2 memory card, PSP care kit, all fine quality and lasted a long time.

Every item on this page is made by Mat Catz and has received superb reviews. I have the Tourney Edition Stick and it is the best fight stick I have ever used, hands down.

I haven't actually bought any third-party gear in a long time, but for the PS1 I have tons of the stuff, and it all still works and most of it is pretty good.
Aside from proper arcade style ones, they make the BEST dance mats.

Maybe during the N64 - PS1 era. They've changed for the better since then.

That gen is when I formed a strong hate for their controllers. The last Mad Catz product I used was a horrible Dreamcast controller. They managed to make an already bad controller worse.
What kind of accessories does a FPS need anyway?

Night vision goggles, for those who didn't get the 150 dollar pack.

Their PS2 controllers were alright, but I loved their arcade sticks. Still, since the MW2 'merchandise' will just be reskinned controllers, I'll pass. What else could they possibly make?

Action figures?

IMO, mad cats stuff is so cheaply made. It's as if the controllers are made to come apart after a year or so.

I wreck controllers. The real ones only last about a year for me and that's just from general use, no throws.

I don't abusy my controllers either. In fact, my old N64 controllers still work like new. The only busted ones is the PS1 Mad Cats controller that my uncle got me when I got the PS1.

I can make my own with a wad of bazooka joe, duct tape, and two Pringles cans. I only hated their controllers really, I've haven't had much problems with their other stuff.
I am a controller smasher.

Mine last for quite a long while, like 4+ years of general use.

I had to buy a new PS1 controller each week.
Good thing I had the hookups 4 bucks a piece.

The only controller ive nearly broken is my sixaxis one, and thats just because ive thrown in a few times. Im not that big of a controller killer.
Although the square and x button stick from so much smashing, but that happens with all my controllers.

I have barely any controllers from others console generations. I'm doing good this gen. I tried a to throw 360 controller out the window , another 360 is cracked and bent my dualshock 3, but I haven't broken anything to the point where its completely unusable yet. :D baby steps

Of course of course. I usually aim my controllers downward, so they give me a nice sickening crack.
When i tried to control my throwing habit, i started to twist my controller, and it actually opened the controller a bit and dislodged the shoulder buttons..

Yep my DS3 was the first controller I did the twist on. lol
I realized I need to stop throwing when I accidentally hit my cat.
