Analyst: Modern Warfare 2 Sold 7 Million on Day One

With an official count of 1.23 million units sold in the UK on launch day, Modern Warfare 2 is well on track to become this year’s biggest entertainment launch, just as publisher Activision said it would.
How is the proper sequel to 2007’s Infinity Ward-developed Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare stacking up in terms of worldwide sales? While exact figures are still unknown, Broadpoint AmTech analyst Ben Schachter surmises that 7 million copies went into the hands of gamers worldwide on day one.
It’s a lofty prediction, but very possible, taking the buzz surrounding this launch into consideration. If true, it’d mean that MW2 nearly doubled the units GTA IV sold on its first day. Quite an impressive feat.

This is the of the only games that I've heard people at school talking about.
This and jailbreaking.
I think it'll end up being extremely successful, but I think it'll probably be the last of the series to be this successful.

I also think it will be the last IW does. Well, I'm guessing, I haven't seen the end of MW2 yet.
I think they might want to make a new IP.

There's already an aimbot out for the PC version, and without dedicated servers, there is no way to ban cheaters.
I love how IW just shafted the whole PC gaming market.

Console > PC
No aimbots, no hacks, nothing.
Pure enjoyment. Playing games on my game console the way it was meant to be.

You can get hacks for the 360 version of games as well

Really?
I haven't seen or heard of any.
Links please
btw, I was talking about Modern Warfare 2. I know some games have hacks but they have been patched such as GTA4 and Gears of War 2.

BTW, who is in charge of managing MW2's VAC list anyway? VALVe or Infinity Ward, or *shudder* Activision?

That's funny, because I figured that was the whole point in removing dedicated servers.
Don't trip, they'll fix it. You honestly think they didn't think this shit through.

I didn't specifically mean MW2, I just meant games on the 360 in general. I'm sure that they're being worked on for the 360 version though.

The only hacking I have seen on xbox live was back on Halo 2. I heard about game save hacks for CoD4, but I've never witnessed it.

Is anyone surprised at this?
If I talk about any other game outside of the group of nerds I hang around with, I get funny looks, but this has been the number one topic of conversation.
Even GTA4 didn't gather this much attention from the non-nerds.
