playstation 2 Playstation Store Update: 2/11/10

Today's update can be summed up in one word - bundles. On the PS3 side, we got 4; two Burnout Paradise bundles, a Sonic Unleashed bundle, and a Valkyria Chronicles bundle. Regarding the PSP, Sony bundled the rather curious choices of Full Auto 2 and Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars, and also released a Sonic Rivals bundle. All of the bundles are priced pretty decently, ranging from $9.99 to $29.99.

Three PSX classics were also released; Dirt Jockey, Populous: The Beginning, and Sim Theme Park.

On the demo side, three new ones were released; Heavy Rain, echoshift, and Socom: Fire Team Bravo 3. Personally, I can't wait to try out the FTB3 one. Be sure to check out the full content of the update after the break!

Playstation Store Update: Sales Galore

playstation 2 Playstation Store Update: Sales Galore

Another Thursday, another PSN update. Some suck, some don't, and this one definitely makes up for last week's rather unsatisfying update.

This week Sony unveiled it's '10 for '10 Game Sale,' where it slashed the price by half for 12 games, both on the PS3 and PSP. And no, I don't why it's called '10 for '10' when there's 12 games.

Regarding new games, the classic Championship Bass for the PSX was released, as well as Konami's latest addition to the Vandal Hearts series, Vandal Hearts: Flames of Judgement. On the PSP side the offerings were quite nice as well, with the revamped edition of Valhalla Knights 2, Valhalla Knights 2: Battle Stance, being released, offering improved warp points and new content over it's predecessor. The Metal Gear PSP bundle was also added, putting the Metal Gear: Portable Ops series and the Metal Gear Solid: Digital Graphic Novel in the hands of all PSP owners. And finally, DJ Max Fever, the popular music game, has been uploaded as well.

Check out the full content of the update after the break.

Playstation Store Update: Not Much

playstation 2 Playstation Store Update: Not Much

Well it's the famed update Thursday for PSN, but sadly there's not much more content added. PS3 users did get a new demo of Uno and a permanent price drop of $15 on Steamboat Chronicles, but PSP owners got a single game, Luxor: The Wrath of Set. Other notable inclusions are Dynogems, a new PSP mini Puzzle Bobble clone, and a Gran Turismo car pack. Given the two week hiatus Sony had over the holiday, there's not much excuse for the PSP to have such a minimal amount of games - especially when they have the download only PSP Go to support.

On the PS3 side of the update, the quality was a bit better. Rock Band songs, as usual, are aplenty and DLC for Magic Orbz was also present. A White Knight Chronicles combat trailer was also uploaded, along with Socom US Navy Seals: Fireteam Bravo 3 dev diary, definitely pleasing both RPG  and FPS fans alike.

Check out the full content after the jump.

PlayStation Store Update Thursday: Kicking It

playstation 2 PlayStation Store Update Thursday: Kicking It
Apart from the addition of a playable demo of Capcom's sci-fi shooter Dark Void and Matt Hazard: Blood Bath & Beyond, the first PlayStation Store update of 2010 is a rather uneventful affair. Sony is taking its sweet time to wake up from the long holiday and we can't blame 'em. On the DLC side of things, Borderlands The Underdome is now available, as is an extra character for PAIN. For those hunting around for deals,  Ubisoft-published titles Cellfactor Psychokinetic Wars, Prince of Persia Classic, TMNT: Turtles in Time Re-Shelled have been discounted to $5 each, down from the regular price of $9.

Thankfully, PSPgo owners were kept in the loop during this lull period as Pinball Heroes, Bomberman Land, and Dungeon Explorer have all been added to the growing collection of UMD Legacy offerings. While the selection of PSOne Classics remain stagnant for another week, there's no shortage of premium themes and wallpapers for customization junkies.

Hit the break for the full list of offerings.

PlayStation Store Update Thursday: Trine

by eXophase Mirror on Oct.23, 2009 at 12:16 am, under Gaming, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable

playstation 2 PlayStation Store Update Thursday: Trine
Headlining this week’s PlayStation Store is Frozenbyte’s enchanting fantasy-action puzzler Trine. Joing that is a couplet of PSOne classics, namely Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee and Oddworld: Abe’s Exodus. For those looking to test-drive some PSN titles, Ratchet And Clank Future: A Crack In Time, Critter Crunch, and Dragon Ball: Raging Blast are all available in demo form.

For the frugal deal hunters among us, Lumines Supernova has been permanently marked down to $9.99 while Burnout Paradise and Siren Halloween have received a temporary reduction down to $14.99 and $29.99 respectively.

With 18 newly added UMD legacy titles, portable offerings are also in surplus this week, which should put a grin on the faces of early PSPgo adopters. See the complete list past the break.

playstation 2 PlayStation Store Update Thusday: Eclectic
Sony serves up an eclectic mix of offerings to the PlayStation Network storefront this Thursday, spearheaded by interactive music experience .detuned. Developed by demoscene group .theprodukkt, it fosters creativity by allowing players to create dynamic artwork by means of manipulating various scenes in a highly stylized experience. Other notable mentions are Mushroom Wars, BUZZ! Junior: Monster Rally, and topatoi: The Great Tree Story.

Additionally, Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty and Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars have been given a temporary price reduction, bringing the two PSN titles down to $9.99 and $4.99 respectively.

And finally, for those disappointed in last week’s offerings on the PSP front, Sony has expanded the list of UMD legacy titles by nine. We’ll take that as an apology. Now available are hits like Midnight Club L.A. Remix, SOCOM Tactical Strike, and Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max. See the full list after the break.

PlayStation Store Update Thursday: Critter Crunch

playstation 2 PlayStation Store Update Thursday: Critter Crunch
This week’s PlayStation Store update invites gamers to chow down with the release with Capybara Games’ high-anticipated Critter Crunch. Add-on content is aplenty, with DLC for Dirt 2, Fallout 3, and LittleBigPlanet making the rounds this week. On the PSP front, NBA 10 The Inside and NBA Live 10 are now available as digital downloads, along with additional Rock Band tracks and PSOne classic Pandemonium.

Yes, the PSP offerings are lacking in this update, but considering Sony just rolled out over 100 games last week, we can forgive them. Just this once, though. Things better pick up next week.

Full content listing is past the break.

PlayStation Store Update Thursday: Digital Downloads Ahoy

playstation 2 PlayStation Store Update Thursday: Digital Downloads Ahoy
With over 100 digital titles to choose from, this week’s North American PlayStation Store update is all about the PSP. A cornucopia of content went up today and while majority of the storefront additions are UMD legacy titles, there’s plenty of new, original offerings as well, such as THEXDER NEO. Let’s not forget the newly launched PSP Minis section either, which opens its gates with seven all-new titles.

Despite being primarly focused on PSP, Sony still manages to appease content hungry PS3 owners as well, with Digger HD and UNO making their debut as digital downloads. Headlining the add-on content segment is Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt DLC for Fallout 3, in addition to a bevy of LittleBigPlanet costume packs.

Either way you look at it, this is one of those rare updates that manage to make everyone happy, covering all bases. Kudos to Sony. See the full list of offerings past the break.
