Playstation Store Update: 2/11/10
by Adiuvo on Feb.11, 2010 at 7:40 pm, under Gaming, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable
Today's update can be summed up in one word - bundles. On the PS3 side, we got 4; two Burnout Paradise bundles, a Sonic Unleashed bundle, and a Valkyria Chronicles bundle. Regarding the PSP, Sony bundled the rather curious choices of Full Auto 2 and Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars, and also released a Sonic Rivals bundle. All of the bundles are priced pretty decently, ranging from $9.99 to $29.99.
Three PSX classics were also released; Dirt Jockey, Populous: The Beginning, and Sim Theme Park.
On the demo side, three new ones were released; Heavy Rain, echoshift, and Socom: Fire Team Bravo 3. Personally, I can't wait to try out the FTB3 one. Be sure to check out the full content of the update after the break!
Playstation Store Update: Not Much
by Adiuvo on Jan.14, 2010 at 8:35 pm, under Gaming, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable
Well it's the famed update Thursday for PSN, but sadly there's not much more content added. PS3 users did get a new demo of Uno and a permanent price drop of $15 on Steamboat Chronicles, but PSP owners got a single game, Luxor: The Wrath of Set. Other notable inclusions are Dynogems, a new PSP mini Puzzle Bobble clone, and a Gran Turismo car pack. Given the two week hiatus Sony had over the holiday, there's not much excuse for the PSP to have such a minimal amount of games - especially when they have the download only PSP Go to support.
On the PS3 side of the update, the quality was a bit better. Rock Band songs, as usual, are aplenty and DLC for Magic Orbz was also present. A White Knight Chronicles combat trailer was also uploaded, along with Socom US Navy Seals: Fireteam Bravo 3 dev diary, definitely pleasing both RPG and FPS fans alike.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 Goes Four Player Co-Op
by Abe Froeman on May.29, 2009 at 9:19 am, under Gaming, PlayStation Portable
Last month, it was announced that Fireteam Bravo 3 will be coming back for another stint on the PlayStation Portable. Yesterday, by way of the US PlayStation Blog, a new game feature was added to the mix; four player co-op throughout the single player campaign.
The co-op mode will be available in both Ad-Hoc and Infrastructure mode and will support 2-4 players via a quick join system. You can even enter a spectator mode if you feel like watching the tactical action.
Hopefully this will lead to more cooperative titles for the Sony handheld in the future.

Yesterday, Sony made it official that SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 is inbound for PSP. Today, we’re given a brief teaser trailer comprised of various gameplay segments. Here’s hoping developer Slant 6 delivers this time around after the mediocre Tactical Strike, which left a tinge of disappointment amongst fans in part due to a frustrating camera system and dilapidated AI.

SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 Hitting PSP
by eXophase Mirror on Apr.16, 2009 at 11:24 pm, under Gaming, PlayStation Portable

The SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo series will be continuing on PSP as Sony announced today that a third installment is in the works.
Fireteam Bravo 3 thrusts players into a covert operation to track down Alexander Gozorov, a former KGB agent. While the supposed target is unknown, the ex-KGB goon is said be withholding critical information on an imminent attack involving weapons of mass destruction.
Like its predecessors, Fireteam Bravo 3 will place a strong focus on multiplayer and team-based gameplay. For take three, developer Slant Six Games is bringing co-op based gameplay into the fold with the ability to tackle missions of your choosing with other teammates. A standard competitive mode will be offered as well, in which players can earn in-game awards in the form of medals and earn a place on SOCOM online leaderboards. Additionally, the entire multiplayer aspect will be voice-chat enabled across all modes.
SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo 3 is due out later this year. It’s another notable entry in the long list of titles that Sony says will make up the “best software year ever” for PSP.
