The folks over at Laptop Mag managed to get their hands on the latest creation from Viliv, the Viliv X10. The X10, which will come in both Android-based and Windows-based variants, features a large 10-inch screen with an impressive 1366x768 resolution. The tablet should be a solid competitor for Apple's notorious iPad and Viliv says that it should ship out with Android 2.2 or Windows 7.

If this is anything like Viliv’s past products, you can expect impeccable build quality, excellent battery life, excellent feature set (GPS, Wifi, Bluetooth) and a price roughly around $600. The X10 is already known to be sporting a 1366x768 capacitive screen, built-in accelerometer, 720p content playback, SD card reader, USB port, front-facing camera, HDMI out and a battery of up to 10 hours of use. You can expect to find an ARM-based processor kicking around in the Android version with an Intel Atom in the Windows model.

Check out the two videos of the tablet in action (both Android models) via the source link below.

Sony Readying New Smartphone and Tablet

PSP Phone

According to The Wall Street Journal, Sony is currently developing a new “lineup of handheld products”, including a smartphone capable of “playing PlayStation games” and a tablet. The article does not present too many details but the tablet is described as a mix between a netbook, PSP and an e-reader to compete with Apple’s latest iPad. No details were given on the PSP smartphone but, as we all know, this device has been rumored for a really long time now so take it with a grain of salt if you will. Both devices will also use the Playstation Store for downloadable content, much like the XBL integration with the Windows 7 Series phones.
